Accommodation
You will stay in a Dutch host family who will welcome you as a member of their family. They will give you a home away from home and provide you with a bed of your own and a quiet place to study.
Host families are selected and screened carefully. They are not expected to change their lifestyle to accommodate an international student, but they will have an open mind and are aware of the cultural differences which might show.
Dutch parents raise their children to be very independent and responsible, so this is something they will also expect from their exchange student. So they will support you to undertake activities (sports, cinema) with school friends to build your own life and immerse yourself in Dutch culture.
School
The Dutch school system is well known around the world. Students learn from a young age to work individually and to take responsibility for their own study. Students learn to plan and to work efficiently on their own. The teacher encourages students to have an opinion and discuss topics without being disrespectful. Schools are selected by our partner abroad based on the students profile.
Mandatory subjects include Dutch, English, Gymnastics, Social studies and Cultural Art. Other subject choices include History, Forgein Languages, Philosophy, Management and Organisation, Economics, Social Sciences, Biology, Chemistry (and many more).
